A replica in solid jadeite jade meassuring in height: 13 cms; width: 7 cms; and depth: 8 cms. It is a very realistic representation of a parturition,which is connected to the fertility rites practiced by the NAHOAS, an Aztec tribe.
The sculpture shows the goddess giving birth to another deity, in a squatting position, a peculiarity still common with some Mexican indigenous tribes.
