We are located in the beautiful city of La Antigua Guatemala, known as one of the most beautiful colonial cities in the world. Surrounded by volcanoes and mountains, with cobblestone streets and colonial monuments in every corner of the city.

When you visit Casa del Jade you will find:

• Jade Workshop, where you will be able to appreciate Guatemalan artisans at work.
• Mesoamerican Jade Museum, the most complete jade museum in Guatemala that will transport you through Mesoamerican history.
• Every visitor to the museum will experience tomb recreations, burials, famous murals and sculptures that are renowned throughout the Mayan world.
• Amphitheater, were you will learn more about jade and its relation to Mesoamerican culture.
• Showrooms, exhibiting beautifully crafted jade jewelry and Pre-Hispanic recreations.

Our facilities are located in Casa Antigua “El Jaulón”, a 16th. Century Spanish residence that belonged to Pedro de Alvarado, conqueror of Guatemala.

“El Jaulón” was destroyed several times by earthquakes and was finally restored in 1993. This is the only monument in Antigua Guatemala that has been fully restored by a group of private investors (including Casa del Jade).

Today, the building offers the tourist: banks, restaurants, coffee shops, travel agencies, art galleries and Guatemalan handicrafts. And in our store, handy-cap friendly facilities.
