Nephrite is found in some abundance in Canada, China, New Zealand, USA, Taiwan and Central Asia.

Jadeite is found in abundance in Myanmar, Russia, and Guatemala. Small quantities can be found in Japan, Switzerland and California, USA.

Jade in Guatemala is found with other minerals at the dry and hot area of Zacapa, approximately 120 miles from Guatemala City, near the limits with Honduras. At this place there´s a big mountain chain known as “Sierra de las Minas”, which has this name since colonial times where Spaniards used to mine Silver for the minting of coins at the city of Saint James of the Knights of Guatemala, now the city of La Antigua Guatemala, At Sierra de las Minas and the Motagua River is also possible to find quartz, different metals, marble, several green stones such as Chris phrase or Guatemala, Aventurine or Soap stone, Serpentine, among others. The reason of all these minerals is the geologic fault of “Motagua” also the reason for earthquakes and tremors in the area. The city of La Antigua is a living witness destroyed several times by these severe movements.
